The government so far has spent 245 billion forints (EUR 692m) of budget resources on measures in connection with the novel coronavirus epidemic, according to the finance minister.
Mihály Varga said in a video on social media that the government has left almost 90 billion forints in the Hungarian economy, while it has spent 157 billion on purchases related to measures to combat the epidemic.

He said work is ongoing to adjust the budget in light of the new situation and to provide the necessary funding continually. The government is making new decisions from week to week to protect the economy with active policies, he said, adding that new measures to protect the economy will soon follow.
