Coronavirus: Further 12 Die, but Only 30 New Registered Cases in Hungary

MTI-Hungary Today 2020.05.05.

A further 12 people, all of whom had underlying illnesses, have died in Hungary, bring the total number of fatalities to 363, while the number of registered coronavirus infections has increased by 30 to 3,065, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday morning.

Fully 709 patients have recovered.

Currently 982 coronavirus patients are hospitalised, 55 of whom are on ventilators. The number of active cases is 1993.

Fully 10,547 people are under official home quarantine. The number of tests carried out stands at 85,557.

The website noted that the aim now is to resume normal life gradually and according to a strict schedule, so full restrictions still apply in the most heavily infected areas, Budapest and Pest County. Elsewhere, physical distancing and a variety of other rules still apply.

Budapest tops the list of registered infections (1,503 people), followed by Pest County (402, Fejér County (306) and Komárom-Esztergom County (141). Vas County has the fewest (14) infections in Hungary.
