Coronavirus: Further 11 Patients Die, Registered Cases Surpass 3,000

A further 11 elderly people have died in Hungary, bringing the total number of deaths to 351, while the number of registered novel coronavirus infections has increased by 37 to 3,035, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday morning.

Fully 630 people treated for the virus in hospital have recovered, while a total of 1,027 patients are still hospitalised, 55 of whom are on ventilators.

Currently, 10,459 people are under official home quarantine, while the number of tests carried out stands at 83,958.

The virus is still being spread in the community through personal contact, though the authorities are preparing for mass infections.

The most cases are in Budapest (1,484 people), followed by Pest County (401), Fejér county (304) and Komárom-Esztergom County (137). Vas County (14) has the lowest number of infections in Hungary.
