Coronavirus: DK Demands Gov’t Distribute Face Masks to Public
MTI-Hungary Today 2020.03.26.
The opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) has called on the government to distribute face masks to all Hungarian citizens free of charge during the novel coronavirus epidemic.
DK lawmaker Zoltán Varga asked chief medical officer Cecília Müller at an online press conference on Thursday to withdraw an “extremely dangerous” statement that healthy individuals need not wear masks. Varga said this went against all known virus-protection protocols.
Varga, a member of parliament’s welfare committee also in charge of health care, said that research showed the majority of coronavirus patients could be symptom-free.
