Fully 137 coronavirus patients died over the past 24 hours, while 726 new infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Tuesday.
The number of active infections has decreased to 223,802. The number of people in need of hospital care has also decreased: hospitals are now caring for 4,739 Covid patients, 549 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the first outbreak, 784,837 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 28,045. Fully 532,990 people have made a recovery.
There are 28,080 people in official quarantine, while 5,438,145 tests have been officially carried out.
So far 4,099,495 people have received a first jab, while 2,157,637 have been fully vaccinated.
On March 5th, the government announced further strict measures, but the reopening has started, since the number of people inoculated with the first jab has reached 2.5 million.
On April 30th, Hungary reached another milestone as the number of vaccinated people surpassed 4 million. Therefore, new rules further easing restrictions have come into force.
