Coronavirus: 10 Members of OSC Water Polo Team Test Positive

Ten players of the OSC male water polo team have tested positive for coronavirus. The news came on the heels of several members of other clubs in different sports testing positive as well. 

According to the announcement published on the team’s website, from the testing done after the postponed Hungarian Cup final, no one had a positive result. Yet before the start of the championship matches, many players had health issues. They were isolated, and the match was delayed. The team carried out new testing which included the whole team and the staff, and the results were positive in ten cases.

They confirmed that everyone is self-isolating and that the swimming centre has recently been disinfected. Those who received negative results will take two more tests, and those who tested positive will follow the appropriate government guidelines.

The team is asking the MVLSZ (Hungarian Water Polo Association) to postpone all matches in the championship. They also said that as soon as the health of the players allows, they will start re-organizing delayed games and prepare for the Hungarian Cup Final on September 26-27th.
