The Hungarian National Blood Transfusion Service said on Monday that more blood plasma was needed from people recovered from the novel coronavirus to treat patients in serious condition.
The Southern Pest Central Hospital and the blood transfusion service welcome blood donations from people with a PCR positive result but who have been without symptoms for at least three weeks, the statement said.
Help is needed from donors for the production of a suffucient amount of plasma which can be used for therapy, the statement added.
The suitability of applicants is decided by experts following medical tests and personal interviews, the transfusion service said.
