Commemoration Of The 9-11 Terrorist Attacks Was Held In Budapest

A commemoration ceremony was held in front of Budapest’s US embassy on Sunday, to mark the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, DC.

We mark today fifteen years since the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 writes John Kerry Secretary of State in his Press Statement on the 11th of September. On Sunday at the anniversary of 9-11-01 the the Embassy of the United States in Hungary held a commemoration.

Addressing the ceremony, US ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell said that September 11 was a day of pointless violence, but at the same time of heroism and solidarity, too. She added that commemoration gives strength to face old and new challenges and reinforces a commitment to shared values.

Sándor Pintér, Hungary’s interior minister, called for coordinated, international efforts to prevent such attacks from recurring and terrorist organisations from jeopardising democracy.
