Chinese Car Manufacturer Brings Electric Cars to the Hungarian Market

Hungary Today 2023.10.02.

The new Chinese energy vehicle manufacturer BYD has selected its first two Hungarian partners. Wallis Motor and Duna Autó will be the first to offer electric cars manufactured by BYD for sale, Világgazdaság reports.

Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, a major player in the battery industry, has signed a contract with its first two dealership partners in Hungary. Wallis Motor, part of the AutoWallis Group, will open a showroom in south Pest, while Duna Autó will open a showroom in north Buda, where they will showcase BYD’s European electric car range, the Chinese company announced.

Hungary is an important market for BYD, as

the company has had an electric bus factory in Komárom (located on the northern border of Hungary) since 2017.

The company plans to launch three all-electric passenger cars on the Hungarian market in 2023. The BYD ATTO 3 is a spacious C-segment SUV, the BYD Dolphin is an agile and versatile five-door model in the C segment, and the BYD Seal, a sporty and dynamic sedan, will enter the D segment.

Wallis Motor, a member of the AutoWallis Group, and Duna Auto were chosen because both dealership groups have the expertise to provide an excellent customer experience for Hungarian customers,”
