The China Smart Expo 2015 trade fair and business forum has opened in Budapest. The event is being held for the fourth time between June 16-18 and features 132 exhibitors from China and Europe. At the opening ceremony Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shandong Provincial Committee Zhang Chuanlin said Shandong’s economic relations with Central European countries are intensive and Hungary is an important investment destination.
The three-day long exhibition and trade fair provides opportunity for enterprises in the CEE region to meet directly with the Chinese manufacturers that suits the best to their business profiles. The Chinese exhibitors represent products from many industries, including electronic devices, vehicle and machinery parts, tools, lighting equipment and small appliances. Visitors of the exhibition can also learn about the financing and logistics services of the CECZ Central-European Co. Ltd, which ensures funds through its Chinese partners for pre-financing purposes.
In early June, it was announced that Hungary has become the first European country to sign a cooperation agreement for China’s “Silk Road” initiative. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, who signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, said that cooperation between the two countries “has never been as good or as effective as now” and that Hungary seeks to become the regional hub for China’s activities in Europe.
