Almost 11.000 effects are to be expected from the great fireworks of August 20th in Budapest, said pyrotechnics contractor Leskovics Pirotechnikai Kft. on Tuesday as the city, country and nation prepares for the festivities of the National Holiday.
Éva Leskovics, spokesperson for the company said, they have installed 4000 firework bombs, 700 comets and another 6000-6500 fireworks effects, which will be launched into 200-250 meter heights. The weather forecast of strong winds poses a great danger for the fireworks, while rain does not affect it. In a critical situation, the whole show can be stopped with a push of a button.
The fireworks costed close to 500.000 EUR (150 million HUF), and is a result of a one month work of 40-50 people, said Leskovics. The budget includes security personal as well, while they are to receive constant updates from the National Weather Service. This year’s National Holiday fireworks will be similar in volume to previous years.
If weather permits, the fireworks is set to begin at 21.00.
