The Puskás Aréna and its facilities are suitable to host a Champions League final, as is Budapest, CEO of UEFA Events, Martin Kallen told sports daily Nemzeti Sport.
He revealed in the interview that he had visited Budapest and witnessed the opening game in the brand new stadium, Hungary hosting Uruguay. “I liked what I saw, (…) so I congratulated the [Hungarian Football Federation] MLSZ president Sándor Csányi.
Not only the stadium but also Budapest impressed the dignitary. In his view, the Puskás Aréna itself is a popular tourist destination, safe, and nearby, meaning that it has all that is needed for the organization of such a large-scale event like a Champions League final in the future.

The Puskás Aréna, Hungary’s biggest sports infrastructure investment in recent times, is scheduled to host four matches at the upcoming European Championships: three in the group stage and one in the round of 16. Hopefully, with the Hungarian team among the contenders.
