Budapest Olympics 2024: Logo And Launch Video Finally Revealed!

The official logo of Budapest’s 2024 Olympic bid has finally been revealed after being left off documents when official application documents were handed in to the International Olympic Committee.

The logo, created by the Graphasel studio and selected by a professional jury, was introduced on Thursday morning by the Hungarian Olympic Committee (MOB), Budapest mayor István Tarlós and government commissioner Balázs Fürjes.

The winning logo, designed by a group of young designers, was selected out of close to 200 applications.

Budapest is contending to host the 2024 Summer Olympics alongside Los Angeles, Paris and Rome, with the final decision being made at the International Olympic Committee’s general assembly in Lima, Peru, in September 2017.

This year’s Olympics are to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to be followed by Tokyo in 2020, meaning that the Olympics could well return to Europe in 2024. According to some commentators, the French capital Paris stands a strong chance because 2024 would be the 100th anniversary it hosted the Games for the first time, in 1924.
