Budapest Named One of the Cheapest Party Destinations in Europe

Fanni Kaszás 2019.05.10.

Some of the best places to party for the weekend are found in Europe, and Budapest has become not only one of the most popular destinations but also the ninth cheapest of Europe’s top 30 clubbing destinations. It has also been named one of the fastest-growing destinations by travel site HomeToGo’s European Club Price Index 2019.

On top of claiming the European Best Destination title in February and ranking fourth on Big 7 Travel’s list of Europe’s 50 Most Instagrammable Places, Budapest has been named one of the top 30 best European destinations for nightlife.

Budapest Wins Best European Destination 2019 Title

Tbilisi was named the cheapest city followed by Bucharest and Belgrade. The list was based on the cost of a weekend getaway in each city, including drinks and accommodation. The Hungarian capital also made the top 10, preceding cities like Berlin, Manchester and Lisbon. Budapest was deemed the ninth cheapest city in the top 30 and was also ranked as one of the top three trending destinations due to a 61.61% year-on-year search increase.

Budapest Named Fourth Most Instagrammable Place in Europe

The top 30 were selected based on each destination’s concentration of nightlife venues and listed events. With Budapest’s lively party scene in the so-called party district and the increasing number of Western European stag-do groups, it’s no wonder the city finished among the top countries.

To rank each destination by price, HomeToGo researched the cost of entering a club on a Saturday night, as well as the price of a small beer, mixed drink, five-mile taxi journey and one night in a four-person holiday rental. Budapest took ninth place due to its cheap prices. The city’s deals attract tourists looking to escape from the steep price tags of Western Europe. In fact, a night out and accommodation in Budapest only costs £44.58 in total. According to the website’s head of Inbound Marketing, Joanna Booth:

Budapest offers a fantastic and affordable nightlife scene, and we’re excited to bring it to more UK travellers’ attention.

She added that “British travellers are lucky enough to have so many world-class nightlife destinations like Budapest just a short plane ride away.”
