Instructed by the police, national railway company MÁV stopped 18 trains in the country and asked passengers to leave carriages while police conducted bomb searches. MÁV said in a statement later that international trains were temporarily stopped at various points in the country, and, after carriages were searched, they proceeded towards their destinations.

Police will examine all trains entering the country until midnight, so delays to international and some domestic services can be expected, the statement said.

UPDATE: MÁV has said that all the international trains have been restarted by mid-afternoon. Passengers have to expect 150-160 minutes delays.
