Although the 110m hurdles race was won by Omar McLeod from Jamaica, something unexpected happened in London yesterday. A Hungarian hurdles runner, Balázs Baji, reached the finish line in third place.
The 2017 IAAF World Championships are currently being held from the 4th to the 13th of August in London. And yesterday, there were some surprising results in the 110m hurdles race.
Sergey Shubenkov, who clocked 13.14, was the first Russian to win a medal in London, while the bronze went to Hungary’s Balazs Baji, who was finished the race at a time of 13.28.
Hungary’s medal haul in World Championships history before yesterday stood at 11 in total – consisting of eight in shot-put, two in combined events and one in pole vault – but Balazs Baji claimed Hungarian’s first ever medal on the track with a bronze.
