Budapest Transport Company Offers ‘Cool Spots’ in Heat Wave

Budapest’s public transport company BKK has set up 34 wells across the city to provide drinking water for people in the street with regard to the current heat wave, the company told MTI on Tuesday.

The company, in cooperation with local governments, has also established areas to cool off outfitted with solar-powered fans and shade plants on Baross and Boráros squares, BKK said.

A heat alert is in force for the whole country until Thursday midnight.
