Balatonfelvidék, Home of the Balaton Wines – Hungary in Pictures

2018.11.23.

In our weekly Instagram compilation, we are exploring a Hungarian city every Friday, to show you the most beautiful places outside Budapest. This time, on the last days of the Autumn we are traveling to the beautiful Balatonfelvidék (Balaton Uplands).

In 1997 a protected ecological system embracing the adjoining area of the Balaton Uplands was established with the connection of the already protected areas which had been separate for a long time. The area of 56 997 hectares of the Balaton Uplands National Park mainly consists of these six landscape protection areas: Kis-Balaton, Keszthely Hills, Tapolca Basin, Káli Basin, Pécsely Basin and Tihany Peninsula.

In the next addition to the series, we are again exploring beautiful parts of Hungary, outside the capital. Don’t forget to use #hungarytoday on Instagram to boost your chances of making it to next week’s compilation!
