Hungary’s Tímea Babos and Partner Mladenovic Win Roland Garros Again

Hungarian Tímea Babos and French partner Kristina Mladenovic won the women’s doubles event at the Roland Garros on Sunday, defending their title.

They defeated Chilean Alexa Guarachi and American Desirae Krawczyk, seeded fourteenth, 6-4, 7-5. Babos and Mladenovic were seeded second.

This is the pair’s fourth Grand Slam title together. Apart from their two Roland Garros victories, they won the Australian Open in 2018 and 2020.

This triumph is all the sweeter given that they were disqualified from the US Open in early September due to Mladenovic having had recent contact with someone infected with coronavirus.
