President János Áder decorated neurobiologist Botond Roska with the Hungarian Saint Stephen Order on Tuesday, Hungary’s national holiday.

Hungarian-born Researcher Awarded for Helping People Regain Their Sight

“Each year on the holiday of the founder of our state we celebrate those Hungarians whose outstanding talent and achievements serve the well-being and prosperity of many others,” Áder said in his address at the ceremony.

Áder referred to this year’s recipient of the prestigious award as a “doctor who does not treat patients but enables others to heal through his research”.
