A series of irregularities have been revealed at national parks around Hungary, the State Audit Office said on Monday.
Audits have been held at each of Hungary’s ten national parks and it has been established that the national park directorates failed to fulfill the conditions for national asset management in line with regulations, as well as accountability for financial and asset management in five parks, the statement said.

The State Audit Office has submitted five proposals to the minister of agriculture and additional ninety proposals to directors of the national park directorates to correct the irregularities and shortcomings, it added.
The audit has also revealed that the defence mechanism against corruption risks was insufficient in all national parks, the statement said.
