CPAC Hungary Opens its Doors with Rousing Speech from PM Orbán

The will of the people, in other words democracy itself, is the main weakness of the progressive forces, “and this is where they can be caught”, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said during the opening day of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest on Thursday.

The Prime Minister stressed that the antidote to the progressive virus is here in Hungary, it is available to everyone, it protects against all variants, it can be taken freely, it works anywhere with a “little local tuning” and it has no side effects.

All we need to do is to write in large letters and clearly visible on the flag before the elections: no migration, no gender, no war,

Mr Orbán said.

He recalled that Hungarians have stopped migration at the border, banned gender propaganda in schools and are working uncompromisingly for peace, “and it is working”. The Prime Minister added that the people feel that they are “playing for keeps” and are supporting the political force that protects the whole nation and represents their interests.

“If Donald Trump were leading America, no war would be hitting Ukraine and Europe today,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the CPAC Hungary conference on Thursday, asking, “Mr President, come back and make America great again and bring us peace.”

Speaking at an event organized by the Center for Fundamental Rights, entitled “Together We Are Power!”, Viktor Orbán said that the essence of illegal migration is to destroy the national community, to dismantle the cultural basis for the functioning of the nation-state, and that the same is the purpose of the woke movement and gender propaganda.
They are exactly like communism used to be, artificially dividing the nation into minorities to create discord between groups, which is their power base, he explained. He added that Western nations are also threatened by progressive foreign policies, which always lead us into war.

The color revolutions started with the slogan of freedom, continued with liberal, progressive re-education and human betterment, and were followed by chaos and the shame of abandoned countries,

he said.

The United States can only be successful if it sticks to religion and traditional values, said Matt Schlapp, President of the American Conservative Union (ACU), in his opening remarks at CPAC. Today, the United States faces economic and cultural challenges, Schlapp explained. “The problem is that we tend to screw up not only our own country’s affairs, but those of others as well,” he added.

Americans can only succeed if they can draw strength from their religion and traditional values, he stressed.

As a world power, our time could quickly run out if we are constantly working to erode the foundations on which our democracy rests,

he noted, adding that the left is doing everything it can to destroy those foundations. Schlapp underlined that despite this, “we will persevere, we will survive, we will not give up the fight” and “we will not allow civilization to be destroyed”.

Brussels has become a disconnected ivory tower where bureaucrats tell us how to live, what to eat and how to think, former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis told the Conservative Political Action Conference.

The former Prime Minister reminded that the next European Parliament elections will be held in 2024 and the results will determine the future of the European Union, our children and future generations. Today, Europe is being held hostage by climate activists and the Green Deal,” Babis explained. While protecting the environment is vital, the Green Deal in its current form is destroying European industry, reliable energy sources and putting European citizens in poverty,” he added.

The green deal will entail huge social, political, economic and geopolitical sacrifices, could create great tensions, open the door to radicals and endanger democracy,

Babis said.

The former Czech prime minister said Brussels officials were trying to make the EU, which is responsible for nine per cent of the world’s carbon emissions, “save the world with this ritual green suicide”. But without the cooperation of the world’s biggest polluters, he says, the agreement will have no effect but to provide further scope for attacks on individual freedoms and the Orwellian dystopia that awaits us down the road.
He pointed out that EU resources are allocated on ideological grounds and that the European Union is no longer about the free flow of goods, labor and ideas, and is not working to make people’s lives better. Brussels is attacking national sovereignty, freedom of expression, common sense, non-ideological education, conservative values, our traditions and way of life,” Babis added.

Although the European Union has great potential, it lacks leadership and politicians are preoccupied with their own interests and strengthening their position. Babis said we need politicians who stand up for a Europe of nations, while building a strong, confident, independent and autonomous European Union that can compete with the United States and China.

US television host Tucker Carlson welcomed the audience in a video message and said that he would have attended the Budapest conference in person if time had allowed.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC Hungary), one of the largest international meetings of the right, is taking place on 4 and 5 May in Budapest. Originally the annual rally of the American right since the 1970s, the CPAC was the first European forum organized by the Center for Fundamental Rights in the Hungarian capital last year.
