Number of Passengers on Wizz Air’s Budapest Flights Triple

Almost three million passengers traveled on Wizz Air flights to and from Budapest between January and October this year, an increase of more than 230 percent compared to the same period last year. 

According to a statement made by the airline, Wizz Air operates 62 flights from Liszt Ferenc International Airport, making Budapest the fourth most served airport in the Wizz Air network.

The first Wizz Air flight took off from Budapest on June 24, 2004, and the cooperation between the airline and Budapest Airport has been unbroken ever since, the statement adds.

Over the past 18 years, Wizz Air has continuously expanded its route network, with the addition of Saudi Arabia and Portugal this year, and the resumption of flights to Egypt and Jordan, among others.

Wizz Air currently operates a fleet of 172 Airbus A320ceo, A321ceo, A320neo, and A321neo aircraft, with an average age of less than five years. The airline’s fleet is expected to reach 500 aircraft by 2030.
