Hungarian President Katalin Novák paid her first official visit to Serbia on Friday. She held talks with her Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

During their joint press conference with President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade on Friday, Katalin Novák announced the creation of the Circle of Family-friendly Presidents. “Building, investing and prospering only makes sense if we have someone to whom we can leave the wealth we created,” the Hungarian President said, reminding that “there is not a single country in Europe today where enough children are born”.

Speaking of Serbia’s European ambitions, Katalin Novák stressed that “the European Union needs Serbia”. She assured Vucic that Hungary will provide all support for Serbia’s earliest possible accession to the EU.

Katalin Novák said they agreed that peace is needed in Ukraine as soon as possible and that migration must be stopped not at the Serbian-Hungarian border but way before it.
