MTI-Hungary Today 2022.06.30.

In case of a further increase in water consumption due to the heat wave, or in case of technical failures, or drops in pressure, temporary water shortages will be experienced in ten Pest County municipalities. Water supplier Duna Menti Regionális Vízmű (DMRV) Zrt. asked consumers to reduce consumption on Wednesday. In Solymár and Pomáz, a first-degree water restriction was imposed.

The company wrote on their website that all their assets are operating at maximum capacity to ensure a continuous supply of drinking water. Local authorities are asked to suspend watering in public areas (from fire hydrants).

In the event of a localized water shortage, they promise to immediately provide water to the affected area.

A first-level water restriction was imposed in Pomáz from Wednesday until it is lifted. According to a notice published on the municipality’s website, water consumers using the public service are obliged to conserve drinking water, and it is forbidden to water gardens with hoses between 6 am and 11 pm, to wash pavements and roads, to operate automatic watering systems, to wash vehicles with hoses, or to fill swimming pools.

In Pilisborosjenő – according to a notice on the municipality’s website – the municipality does not water the public spaces and does not cool the roads. In addition, residents were asked to use water sparingly.

In Pilisvörösvár, if the heatwave continues, plants in public areas will be watered with water from the fishing pond, according to the town’s website. A first-degree water restriction will be implemented in case of water supply disruptions. Residents are also asked to comply with DMRV requests for water conservation.
