Summer Season Officially Opens at the Capital of Lake Balaton

Summer is here, and the season of swimming, beach parties, and sun tans has officially opened in Siófok, the city’s official website announced. The Balaton capital will be holding all-day family programs at its main square from June 3 to June 6.

Siófok’s Pentecost Festival will involve concerts for all ages, an opening ceremony, exhibitions, food tasting, and all sorts of exciting programs. There will be a game room for children, dance performances, children’s concerts and even a folk-dance house. Performers will include the Freakend, The Biebers, Karthago, and Tamás Hevesi and Friends.

On day one (Friday), exhibitions of painter Elek Csiszár and sculptor Zsolt Csiszár’s work will be opened until the end of the long weekend, with food tasting organized by Ildikó Madarász, Housewife of the Countryside. After a discussion between Károly Peller and Jászai Mari award winning artist László Csere, the day will close with a performance from The Freakend.

On Saturday, The Lavender game house for children will open until the end of the long weekend. It is also on Saturday that the Summer’s Capital Key will be handed over, symbolically opening the summer season in Siófok. The rest of the day will include Hungarian music performed by Csaba Csuti and László Nyári, folk dance performances, and a Mamma Mia Show in the evening. The evening will close with a performance from the Biebers.

Sunday will feature Réka Farkasházi and the Tintanyúl (Ink Rabbit) band’s children’s concert, and the Siófok Retirees Association will sing Balaton songs. Local dance performances will be held, Aniko Ungár will dazzle attendees with a magic show, and Karthago will perform in the evening.

On Monday there will be a performance from the Senior Women, a children’s concert from Kobold, a dance program, games, a children’s concert from Lóca, and a family folk-dance house. Tamás Hevesi and Friends will perform at the closing of the event.
