489 patients died of Covid over the past 72 hours, while 22,699 new coronavirus infections were registered in Hungary, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Monday.
The number of active infections has risen to 189,753, while hospitals are treating 7,440 Covid patients, 586 of whom are on ventilators.
Since the first outbreak, the number of fatalities has risen to 35,611, while 1,157,568 infections have been registered. Fully 932,204 people have made a recovery.
So far 6,159,926 people have received a first jab, while 5,867,068 have been fully vaccinated. Fully 2,765,500 Hungarians have received a booster jab.
There are 48,217 people in official quarantine, while 8,666,739 tests have been officially carried out.
The government re-introduced compulsory mask-wearing in enclosed spaces from November 20.
