An African serval was sighted in the Bükk Hills of northern Hungary. The wild cat is found exclusively in Africa, especially in Tanzania, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.

In the Bükk Hills in the past, there have been more and more reports of unusual wild animals, such as brown bears or lynxes, but this time, an African serval has been seen near Eger and Borsodnádasd, where someone filmed the wildcat in his yard. Since the wild animal behaved tamely, it can be assumed that it escaped from its owner.
The serval is distributed throughout Africa from the Cape to Algeria but is most common in Tanzania, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. They can be 67 to 100 cm long, and their tails are short like those of the lynx. Their fur looks similar to that of the leopard. It can jump up to a height of three meters compared to its size.
