  "Mother Nature is a source of life, not a resource" Native American proverb — Just a week ago I was so excited to go hiking and exploring again. I did not know about this special place in Hungary until a friend of mine told me about it in Ecuador. She did not have a chance to visit it, so I promised her that next time I am home in Hungary, I will send pictures for her. However, when I arrived I was devastated… — On the 1st picture you can see how the Salt Hill should look like and looked like until just a few years ago. And on the next pictures, you can see how it looks now, it is dying! The spas that are built around it and also those that are a few villages away from this place use up almost all of the thermal water for healing and the Mining Society decided to let that happen while limiting the water running towards the Hill. — This place used to be unique in Europe. The only salt hill here and thus, it is a protected area. But then I ask, how can one thing be protected then not be taken care of? Who is responsible for ruining nature? Why cannot we really protect our natural treasures?
