33rd Vivicitta Run Held in Budapest – Photo Gallery!

A total of 29,780 runner from 84 countries participated in the 33rd Telekom Vivicitta Spring Half Marathon in Budapest last weekend, with more than 9,000 half marathon, 6,000 Vivicitta (10 km) and 5,000 Midicitta (7 km) runners, including several public figures. The course ran through the heart of Budapest, crossed several bridges and passed some of the most well-known sites of the city.

Hungarian sportsmen, celebrities and public figures also participated in the race. World champion boxer István Koko Kovács and footballer Krisztián Lisztes both ran the individual half marathon, while actors of the popular Hungarian series Aranyélet, Eszter Ónodi, Lehel Kovács, and Szabolcs Thúróczy, ran the 21.1 kilometers together.

Some of the public figures completed Vivicitta for a good cause: swimmer Dávid Verrasztó ran the race on behalf of the Hungarian Hospice Palliative Association, two time paralympian swimmer Dóri Pásztory completed the distance in the colors of Suhanj! Foundation, while journalist-reporter Kriszta D. Tóth ran for Unicef.

Other Hungarian cities will also organize their own Vivicitta. The next one will be on 22 April in Győr followed by Miskolc on 6 May, Pécs on 12 May and Szeged on the 13th.
