The 25th edition of Sopron’s popular Volt Festival has begun today with the special “-1 day” warm-up programme. Although at the beginning of VOLT Festival in 1993 only 5 bands and 800 guests attended the event, about 170.000 visitors are expected to attend the silver jubilee this year.
One of the most exciting multicultural festivals in Central Europe, VOLT expects its guests every year in the middle of a fabulous forest located next to the town of Sopron. The town, known for its rich history and red wines, lies at the Austrian-Hungarian border at the crossroads of three capitals – 60 km from Vienna, 200 km from Budapest, 90 km from Bratislava (Pozsony). Apart from the festival, the historic town itself and the sight-packed region guarantees fadeless memories.

The festival, which was named the best European medium-sized festival in 2015, is characterized by its wide variety of musical styles: rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, electro, world music. This year’s programme features an amazing line-up of world stars, including Linkin Park, Imagine Dragons, Ellie Goulding, Fatboy Slim, Martin Garrix, Paramore, Pendulum Live, Years & Years, Jess Glynne, The Cult, Enter Shikari, Knife Party, Of Mice And Man, Fritz Kalkbrenner, Lost Frequencies, and many more!
