Raktár Beach: Budapest’s New Summer Bar Opens On Margaret Island

Robert Velkey 2016.06.10.

Raktár Beach was opened two weeks ago but it’s already at full capacity every day.  The brand-new place on the banks of the Danube at the Margaret Island has put together the open-air terrace, sand, cool DJs, quality drinks and the summer nights. As expected, the crowd congregates at Raktár Beach every Wednesday to Saturday to enjoy the summer weather.

That’s a common rule that in the summer, we prefer to be outdoors. This is true if we talk about bars and clubs too. There are plenty of open-air places and gardens in the capital, but the Raktár BáR came up with something new. They moved the bar to the Margaret Island. At the entrance of the island, not far from the bridge, you can find the atmospheric new club. Here you can find everything what you need in a hot summer day: tasty meals, chill on the terrace, parties until the Sun rise up.

What’s more, they made a 2400 square metre sandy “beach” what will open at the end of June. There will be a real beach feeling, according to which they will set up beach volleyball fields, shower cabins and deck chairs. At the Bar, you can find a roomy terrace with shady seats to take a rest after a volleyball tournament or have a good burger with the panorama of the Margaret Bridge.

After dark it is party time every night, up to the actual topic of the night. If it is Wednesday it is deep house, on Thursday you find hip-hop and R&B on the dancefloor; Friday and Saturday are the nights of pop and dance music.

The Raktár Beach is one of the largest places in Budapest. As one of the owners Gergely Szabó said, they wanted activate a new centrum for the summer time what can be a meeting point at day and at night also.
