15 Confirmed Infections Among National Oncology Institute Workers

Hungary Today 2020.09.17.

Fifteen workers at the National Oncology Institute (OOI) have tested positive for the coronavirus, the hospital confirmed to RTL Klub.

According to the Institute’s statement, the majority of those infected are not showing symptoms, and three more workers are quarantined. Most of them contacted the infection outside the hospital. They also highlighted that the infections are not causing any further disruption in patient care, insisting that it is “impossible” that the workers passed the infection on to the patients.

According to the Independent Health Trade Union, the coronavirus appeared among doctors and nurses in other hospitals too; however, the Ministry of Human Capacities (EMMI) did not provide information on the matter.
