Hide the Pain Harold to Break into NFT Business

Hungary Today 2022.04.26.

András Arató, the face of the world-famous meme ‘Hide the Pain Harold,’ is looking for artists for his upcoming NFT (non-fungible token) project.

András Arató is looking for painters, street artists, digital artists, and sculptors. Arató, in collaboration with the Nyíregyháza-based advertising agency Alfabrand, can be seen in the meme ‘Hide the Pain Harold.’ Taking advantage of the meme’s popularity, they are starting their own NFT project with artists. In the NFT universe, there is already a history of meme commodification.

Fact

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger, that can be sold and traded. Types of NFT data units may be associated with digital files such as photos, videos, and audio. Because each token is uniquely identifiable, NFTs differ from most cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, which are fungible.

They are looking for ten creators, international and Hungarian, who would like to participate in the creation of the so-called ‘Harold NFTs’. Zdenkó Pető, Arató’s manager, said that the project would benefit the artists, because the ‘Hide the Pain Harold’ brand and the meme’s hundreds of thousands of fans would be able to reach many people with their work. The works will have to reflect ‘Hide the Pain Harold’ in some way.

Pető added that they are still discussing on which platform the NFTs will be minted (published). Bonuses will also be included in the ten-piece ‘Harold NFT’ collection.

The works will also be physically delivered to the NFT owner and will be equipped with a number of utility traits related to Hide the Pain Harold. Our primary goal is to highlight the most talented artists from the buzz of the internet and give them the opportunity to have their work seen by as many people as possible,”

said Pető.
