The new Hungarian film Kincsem (whose literal translation would be”my treasure”; the English title is Invincible), tells the tale of a prize-winning Hungarian horse, who became, arguably, the most successful thoroughbred racehorse ever. The great international co-production between English, Russian, German, American and Austrian filmmakers is the most expensive Hungarian movie that has ever been made. It cost 3 billion forints, almost $10,000,000 USD, but according to index.hu there has not been a Hungarian film as popular with moviegoers in 11 years.
Exactly 72,089 tickets have been already sold and ticket revenue has already reached 100 million forint. The movie is currently being shown throughout Hungary in 80 cinemas.

Perhaps the last films proved to be this popular with Hungarian movie-goers were Üvegtigris with 114.055 spectators and Szabadság, Szerelem with 72.832 spectators of 2006.
