Hungary will this year again host 660 children from Ukraine in summer camps at Lake Velence, in central Hungary, a human resources ministry official said.
The programme accommodates Ukrainian and Transcarpathian Hungarian children aged 6-13 whose fathers have fought or are still fighting in the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, Miklós Soltész, the state secretary in charge of church, minority and civil society relations, said in Agárd, on the southern shore of Lake Velence.
He noted that that this will be the third time Hungary is hosting children from Ukraine in summer camps. Hungary is the only country to offer such services to Ukraine, Soltész said.
