At long last, the Hungarian capital is playing itself in the comedy movie “Spy”, Hollywood actress Melissa McCarthy and director Paul Feig explain in a clip on the film’s location.
The movie, which will hit cinemas on 4 June, is the third film listed by Mr. Feig and Ms. McCarthy, after the pair won hearts with the comedies “Bridesmaids” and “The Heat”.
In a recently published clip, they recall their experiences of shooting in Budapest, and their opinions could not be more positive.
The actress said that she has never seen as extraordinary places as the system of cellars lying beneath Buda Castle or the Kelenföld thermal power station, but also praised the vintage buildings of downtown Budapest. As the film’s director Mr. Feig explains, the script was adapted to feature Budapest as the story’s location instead of Paris and Rome after he fell in love with the Hungarian capital.
