Russian students had the opportunity to get familiar with twelve Hungarian universities as the first Russian-Hungarian Education Forum took place on 17th of February in Moscow. Hungary was also present at the ICIEP International Education Fair, the biggest of its kind in Russia, held on the 18th and 19th of February in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.
Both event showcased the so-called Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme. It was launched in 2013 with the aim to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students. Currently more than 50 Sending Partners are engaged in the programme throughout 4 different continents. The number of applicants is continuously increasing as well as the number of available scholarship places. In the academic year 2017/2018 approximately 4000 students can begin their studies in Hungary in the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.
