Californian rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers will deliver a concert in Budapest’s Sport Arena on 1st of September this year. The multi-award-winning formation has announced their eleventh album ‘Getaway’, as well as a new world tour that brings their return to Europe this autumn, including Hungary. Fans can purchase their tickets from 9 am on Friday 13 March 2016 via livenation.com. Although the band is expected to perform at Budapest’s Sziget festival every year, its last concert in Hungary took place as far back as 1996.
RHCP, known for its unqiue musical style based on rock, punk-rock, psychedelic rock and funk, was formed in Los Angeles in 1983. Currently, the band consists of founding members Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Flea (bass), longtime drummer Chad Smith; and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. Red Hot Chili Peppers have won seven Grammy Awards and have become one of the best-selling bands of all time with over 80 million records sold worldwide. In 2012, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
