Plane Crash: Hungarian President, PM Express Condolences To Germany And Spain

Hungarian President János Áder expressed condolences on his and the Hungarian people’s behalf to Spanish King Felipe VI, German President Joachim Gauck and the families of the victims. He said that “in these hours filled with sorrow, we share the grief of the people of Spain.” The plane with 150 on board was en route from Barcelona to Düsseldorf and crashed in the French Alps.

Being informed about the Germanwings plane crash, Hungary’s PM Viktor Orbán also expressed his sympathy to the German Chancellor and the Spanish Prime Minister in a telegraph, Bertalan Havasi press chief of the Prime Minister’s Office said on Tuesday. It is with great sadness that I received the information of the tragic flight crash in France – Viktor Orbán wrote in his condolence letter addressed to Angela Merkel and Mariano Rajoy. “The Hungarian people share the grief of the families who have lost their beloved ones.”, he wrote.

Hungary’s Foreign Ministry also said it was shocked by the tragic news of the plane crash in South France. The Ministry expressed compassion for the families whose relatives’ lives were taken due to the awful catastrophe. “We understand and share the pain felt by those affected by the tragedy”, they said.
