The first Swedish furnishing supermarket arrived in Budapest in 1990. The company is known for its modernist designs for various types of appliances and furniture, and its interior design work will now have a new outlet in the Hungarian capital.
Home furnishings giant IKEA will open its third store in Budapest on June 14, the company told MTI. The 34,000sqm store, which cost almost 17 billion forints (almost 56m dollars) to build, will open in the south of the city. IKEA’s other two stores are in the east of Budapest and in the west, on the capital’s outskirts.
