Hungarian actress Katalin Berek has passed away at the age of eighty-seven. After a long period of illness Katalin Berek’s -a recipient of the state actors’ award, Jászai Mari Prize and Kazincy Prize– death has been confirmed by the state news agency MTI.
Katalin Berek was born on the 7th of October, 1930. She was raised in an orphanage of Makó. She had her first roles as a child-actor in the Theater of Szeged City when she was 8-years-old. In her teenager years as a 15-years-old girl she was sure about that, she will be an actress.
Katalin Berek appeared in 21 films between 1950 and 1984. Katalin starred in the 1975 film Adoption, which won the Golden Bear at the 25th Berlin International Film Festival.
