The Hungarian government has decided to provide 420 million forints (EUR 1.3m) to help with the reconstruction of four schools and a hospital in Maiduguri in north-eastern Nigeria, the human resources minister said.
Balog Zoltán added that the assistance will be given in response to the call made by Nigerian Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme to the Hungarian prime minister during his visit to Budapest in July. The bishop asked for the help because the Boko Haram terrorist organization is not only murdering people in Nigeria, but destroys the local infrastructure as well, he said.
The government has decided to support the development of Maiduguri’s infrastructure with more than 420 million forints.
