László Kleinheisler, the 23-year old attacking midfielder of the Hungarian national team, signed for Kazakhstan’s champions FK Astana on a season-long loan with an option for a permanent move from German first division side Werder Bremen.
Kleinheisler, who was discovered by Hungary head coach Bernd Storck, made a promising move to the Bundesliga team after a sensational international breakthrough in Hungary’s Euro 2016 playoff triumph over Norway in November 2015. However, since that time he was not able to prove his worth in Bremen, therefore he was loaned out to Darmstad and Ferencváros in the first and second half of last season respectively.
The red-haired midfielder, nicknamed “Scholes” in Hungary, surprised the Hungarian fans with his unexpected move to FK Astana. Many have doubts: if Kleinheisler had communication problems in Bremen, how can he settle down in Astana? The player says he joined the club to refresh his carreer and to help the team reaching the group stage of Champions League and defend the domestic title.
