Welsh actor Luke Evans is currently in Budapest, filming scenes for his upcoming television series The Alienist. While in the Hungarian capital, the movie star has found some time to relax in a hammock on the shore of the Danube, with the city’s famous Chain Bridge in the background.
Evans, who is best known for his role as Bard the Bowman in Director Peter Jackson’s Hobbit film series (which was itself a prequel of sorts to The Lord of the Rings), also hosted his cousins in Budapest, as can be seen in this photo they took of themselves with the lights of the city gleaming in the background:
In Evans’ current project, the actor plays a newspaper illustrator who, alongside a Hungarian criminal psychologist, works to solve a series of gruesome murders in 1896 New York. Posting a trailer for the series on Instagram, Evans wrote “Scared yet? Intrigued yet? You should be… #TheAlienist.”
In addition to his roles in The Hobbit and in the upcoming Alienist TV series, Evans is known for playing the title vampire in Dracula Untold, the villain Gaston in Disney’s live-action adaption of Beauty and the Beast, as well as numerous other prominent roles.
