The Good Old Days Of The Margaret Island 150 Years Ago – Nostalgic Photo Collection

The Margaret Island is under renovation. Although, by the plans the works will be finished until the end of May if you visit the Island now, you will see the constructions. Until they will be ready with the works, let’s have a look at the good old days of the island.

Every story of the Margaret island starts with Archduke Joseph, Palatine of Hungary. At first he transformed the wild island to a beautiful park for himself and later he opened for the public. On this picture you can see his summer house there in the 1870s.
