This past weekend, on the first Sunday of Advent, Budapest was once again covered in glittery Christmas lights and received its seasonal makeover.
Wherever you go in the city, you can see spectacular Christmas decorations: the Advent Feast, held in front of the Basilica, the Budapest Christmas Fair on Vörösmarty Square, and the ‘Christmas tree of Hungary’ on Kossuth Square in front of Parliament are just a few of the city’s fabulous holiday sights.
You can wander the beautifully illuminated Andrássy Avenue, Váci Street, and the Grand Boulevard. In addition, since last week, Budapest’s magnificent Christmas trams are back again for the holiday season as well.
