It was the first bridge in Hungary over the River Danube. Before being destroyed by retreating German troops in 1945, it looked like this in the 1930s:

The answer is: It is the Chain Bridge, a national symbol of Hungary. The first photo was taken after the Second World War, in 1945. The second picture is a vintage one from the 30s. Don’t miss to walk across it if you visit Budapest!
