Hungary’s Counter Terrorist Center (TEK) has arrested a suspect in southwestern Hungary on Wednesday evening on suspicion of carrying out a bomb attack in central Budapest last month which Police said was aimed at two police officers who were injured the blast, Reuters reported citing several Hungarian journals.
Private news website Origo reported the arrest, citing unnamed sources, and other media said the suspect had been detained by TEK in the village of Karmacs located in tin Zala county. TEK also carried out actions in popular resort towns Hévíz and Keszthely located in the near of the village, papers say. According to tabloid Blikk, the suspect was identified through a DNS sample that was “secretly” recorded by the Police from the suspect’s mother.
Hungary’s anti-terror police and the chief prosecutor’s office have not commented the reports yet.
