Always wondered what Hungarians are doing on an average day? Are they working tirelessly dawn to midnight or rather prefer having Mediterranean-like siesta in the afternoon? What is the difference between women and men, day and night? Well, a recently published animated chart by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) might provide you with some interesting answers. (It is also available in English.)
KSH says the chart was prepared following the idea of Nathan Yau and using the data of the 2009/2010 time use survey. The source of data is a representative household sample of an age-group defined in advance. The questionnaire survey is performed by interviewers in every 7-10 years on the basis of the voluntary cooperation of respondents. Each point represents a person on the graph moving toward the label of her/his current activity.
